Students specializing in Finance receive a type of education that exposes them to
current realities in the Philippine business environment. They are trained, theoretically
and hands-on, in accounting principles, financial systems, and investment promotions,
which enable them to fit snugly in the country’s fast-rising industrial estates
and top manufacturing and business companies.
Marketing students are made to focus their attention on management principles and
techniques and on the latest trends in market research that accelerate organizational
and product development. Mastery in these techniques enables the student to be creative
in the design of market indicators and other instruments that aid production and
sales.
The program aims to prepare students for a business career as entrepreneurs
in any craft, trade, or industry that they may find lucrative and fulfilling to
engage in. Emphasis is placed on small and medium scale enterprise development,
the identification and prioritization of investment opportunities, and the harnessing
of organizational skills needed for businesses to take off.
The curriculum provides an integrated perspective of the functions of an enterprise,
enabling the students to develop a pro-business type of motivation and self-confidence
as well as basic management skills required in operating a business. Students get
a good grounding in business mathematics, enterprise planning and development, business
operations and maintenance, marketing, financial management, business strategies
and ethics, product design, international business, and information technology.
Interdisciplinary core subjects and hands-on application complement these major
courses.
Food service is a fast growing industry worldwide. The management and operation
of a food service facility have now become very attractive options for young entrepreneurs,
particularly the women. This can be attributed, not only to the fast development
of the food service industry, but also to the general perception that food preparation
and service are activities generally identified with women. With the usual meal
planning and food preparation undertaken by women in their respective households,
extending these activities beyond one’s home to become an entrepreneurial venture
appears to be a logical move towards setting up a business venture.
With the highly competitive nature of the food service industry, consumers have
raised their food quality standards as new products and flavors are made available
to them. On the other hand, entrepreneurs continue to develop new concepts and products
in an effort to provide unique and innovative dining experiences to consumers. With
the increasing resources needed for a food service venture, and the concern for
sustainability to recover investments, providing women with formal education in
business and entrepreneurship, combined with hands on training in the culinary arts,
is seen as a much needed combination to prepare women for a sustainable and viable
business venture in the food service industry.

students for the Licensure Examinations for Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and
in meeting the demands and challenges of the profession.
Intensive training is provided to enable students to become globally competitive
and equipped with global skills and techniques. Alongside focal courses in finance
and accounting theories and practices, students avail of a comprehensive curriculum
designed to make them multi-disciplined and conversant with topics covered in related
sciences and fields. The idea is to turn them less into numerical robots and more
into financial analysts and accountancy experts who are well-rounded and responsible
professionals, and who uphold the ethics and the principles of transparency and
accountability.
