The Bachelor of Arts Major in Communication Arts program aims to develop among students
a comprehensive understanding of the nature, basic theories, and applications of
communications.
The course curriculum is designed to train the students in the designing and creation
of multi-media products. Using a generalist approach, it enables them to gain knowledge
of and cultivate skills related to the various media, including print, radio, television,
theater and film. It allows them to experience the dynamics of interpersonal and
group communications, public relations, advertising, marketing, and information
technology.
The Bachelor of Arts major in Psychology program provides a thorough understanding
of the basic scientific principles in understanding human behavior and thinking
processes. It aims to turn out graduates who will join the country’s pool of experts
in human behavior and productivity enhancement, researchers in the behavioral sciences,
and a potent labor supply that can assist in bringing about economic development,
good governance, and national development.
With our country’s escalating problems on environmental degradation and widespread
poverty, the B.S. Environmental Planning and Management (EPM) course provides the
education needed to help us plan and manage a better future. It prepares students
for professional careers requiring skills and values on effective resource management,
efficient physical infrastructure and community growth, and responsible business
operations. EPM produces graduates who can plan and develop sustainable development
programs and viable business projects that are at the same time guided by ecological
principles and nurtures strong love and respect for nature and people.
To provide a more focused and well-directed career path for the EPM graduates, the
course has been framed into two (2) major tracks:
The Urban Planning and Green Architecture track,
which equips students with computer-aided planning and architectural skills on Geographic
Information System (GIS), AutoCAD, Correl, etc., backed-up with technical knowledge
on town planning, subdivision planning, utilities and infrastructure planning, waste
management technologies, and green architectural aesthetics and design techniques.
Graduates of this track are able to provide technical support to city and municipal
government in their urban design and sustainable environmental management works,
to real estate developers in planning and developing clean and green communities,
and to planning and consultancy firms in conducting urban and regional development
planning and sustainable environmental research works.
The Corporate Environmental Management track,
which equips students with technical knowledge on environmental quality standards,
pollution analysis and management techniques, and environmental cost accounting.
Graduates of this track can guide business companies to become compliant with government
requirements and international environmental standards while maintaining the viability
of their business operations. They can work with business companies in securing
their Environmental Compliance Certificates (ECC) from government, in performing
their corporate social responsibilities, and in registering with the International
Standards Organization (ISO) to become globally competitive..
